We have a low-income spay/neuter program to assist with the spaying and neutering of pets. This is to help control the overpopulation of animals without homes. Most of the local veterinarians participate in this program.
If you need financial assistance to help with the cost of spaying or neutering, bring proof of household income to the Humane Society of Genesee County. Proof of income can be check stubs, tax returns, bank statements or proof of assistance. You will also have to fill out an application when you get there. The spay/neuter assistance program is limited to one animal per household per year. You will pay a fee at the Humane Society and they will give you a prepaid voucher to take to one of the participating veterinarians.

Adoption alone is obviously not the answer; altering is.
