HSGC Programs
There are many great programs at The Humane Society of Genesee County. Whether you looking to adopt a dog, cat or other type of animal, we can and will help you find the pet you are looking for and you can also participate in one of our exciting programs.
With our Golden Friendship program, senior citizens may adopt qualified pets (adult and sterilized) at no cost.
Our wonderful Pet Therapy program allows volunteers to take puppies and kittens to visit area Assisted Living Facilities and Hospitals for Pet Therapy. This has been proven to bring positive responses and results from those that are ailing or recovering.
The Humane Society also offers a Foster Care program which means providing temporary homes and care for shelter animals that are sick, injured or too young to be currently placed up for adoption.

Volunteering
Being a volunteer for the Humane Society of Genesee County is one of the most important jobs you can do. Because of our valued volunteers, we are able to make sure our dogs are walked on a regular daily basis, our cats are petted and pampered, and our shelter looks warm and welcoming.
Foster Care
The Humane Society of Genesee Count has an ongoing need for our volunteers that are interested in fostering pets. These are animals that have been brought to us that may be in need of bottle feeding, medical treatment or housing until they can be put up for adoption.
