What is Foster Parenting?  How do I get involved?

Being a Foster Parent means providing temporary homes and care for shelter animals that are sick, injured or too young to be currently placed up for adoption.

Some commonly asked questions are:

Do I have enough time?  Certainly you do.  Many animals simply need a place to live while their injuries heal or until juvenile animals are old enough to be put up for adoption.  They can be kept in a crate for their own safety while you are working.

What if I fall in love?  We know that is a possibility which is why the animals are required to come back to the shelter for adoption.  If you find you've really fallen in love, come in and talk to us.  The possibility for you to adopt is there.

Is it expensive?  No, not really.  We will provide you with food, litter and any veterinary care or medications that the animal may need.
